MSc Games Development

Individual Learning Project – Developing an understanding of procedural content generation with UE4 blueprints.

Visual Scripting – Developing further knowledge of UE4 blueprints, preparation for game development in the Game Project module.

Game Project – A 2D, casual PC game of wonder and relaxation. 2D art assets made in Photoshop. Developed in UE4 with blueprints.

Development Management – Critical evaluation of project management methodologies and data collection techniques.

Research Methods – Conducting research around a chosen topic for a research proposal.

Final Project – “Semi-procedural materials with homogeneous and disparate textures: Analysis of performance statistics and ease of implementation”

Final Project – “An Investigation into Romanesque Architecture for Modular Environment Development with a PBR Workflow.” -  Assets made in 3DS Max & Substance Painter, assembled in UE4. Development Blog can be found here.

Design Masterclass – “Tranquillity & Wonder in Virtual Reality” - Assets made in 3DS Max & Photoshop, assembled in Unity for Oculus Rift. Video can be found here.

Group Project – Project management, proficient team working. Using GitHub and Jira for project auditing.

Practical Prototyping – Rapid iteration and play testing while creating non-digital games. 2D art and game component creation.

Visual Scripting – Unreal Engine 4 and blueprints to create a 2D and 3D games.
